One of the most complicated watches every created was released by Patek Philippe in 1989. It was called the ‘Calibre 89’ and was a commemorative for the company’s 150th anniversary. The watch contained 1,728 parts and 33 complications allowing; the date of Easter, the time of sunrise, sidereal time, equation of time, a 2,800 star chart and a leap year function which leaves out the extra day in 100 year intervals. Today the company holds over 70 patents.
